The New Jersey Board of Nursing has made some conditions for licensure of nurses and renewal of registered nurses.
CE Requirements for RN:
RN applying for a license must complete at least 30 hours of CE during the 2-year renewal cycle.
RNs and LPNs must finish 1 contact hour of CE related to prescribing opioid drugs or other similar drugs for curing pain and the dangers and signs of opioid addiction, abuse, and diversion.
CE Requirements for LPN:
LPNs must complete at least 30 contact hours of CE every 2 years.

CE Requirements for APNs:
An APN must complete the CE needed to renew a registered nurse license and the CE provision of the national accrediting agency whose exam the APN has cleared.

ALL CE courses linked to nursing must be accepted by a certifying bureau recognized by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
A person having a SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) certificate in another state must provide many documents if they want to have their certification combined with their New Jersey license.
The candidates, however, have to fulfill some conditions. They must have a certificate of clinical work and coursework and a copy of the statutes of the current state.
